Ever had that moment where the radio waves seem to align perfectly with your thoughts?
It’s like finding a gem in a sea of noise.
That’s precisely what happened to me this week, courtesy of a fellow named Chris, who poured his heart out on one of those radio phone ins about the relentless grind of his marketing job, working seven days a week while his pleas for help fell on deaf ears.
I texted in some advice and it was read out! This is the gist of it:
Chris, my friend, you’re not alone in this struggle. Many of us have been there, juggling endless tasks while feeling like a tiny cog in a massive machine.
It’s high time you valued yourself first and foremost. Channeling the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt, remember that nobody can put you down without your consent. Also, boundaries aren’t just lines on a map; they’re the fortress protecting your sanity and well-being. Say no to those weekend shifts unless they come with a side of fair compensation. Your time is precious cargo, and it’s about time you treated it as such.
“So, Chris, here’s my advice in a nutshell: Value yourself. Set boundaries. Communicate clearly. And above all, remember that you hold the reins of your own destiny. It’s time to steer towards a brighter, more balanced future.
You got this!”
I hope Chris is out there somewhere having just enjoyed a work-free weekend.
