Workplace stressors

by

Workplace stressors are factors or conditions within a work environment that can lead to stress, anxiety, or feelings of being overwhelmed among employees.

The list in the image gives examples of a few stressors that can greatly affect a person- causing stress and its unwelcome outcomes.

These stressors are like roadblocks on the journey of our daily work, making us feel anxious, overwhelmed and with enough stress, unwell (mentally and physically).

When you detect workplace stressors, it’s important to address them proactively to maintain your well-being and productivity.

So, what can you do when you spot these stressors?

1. First, take a moment to identify what’s causing the stress. Acknowledge that it’s okay to feel this way; it happens to the best of us.

2. Reach out to colleagues, friends, or a trusted supervisor to discuss your concerns. Sometimes, talking it out can provide much needed release plus valuable insights and emotional support.

3. Prioritise tasks, create to-do lists, and manage your time efficiently. Breaking big projects into smaller, manageable steps can make a huge difference.

4. Wellness Practices: Incorporate wellness practices into your routine, like mindfulness, exercise, or deep breathing exercises. They are proven to help reduce stress and promote well-being.

Remember, your well-being is a priority. It’s not just about surviving at work; it’s about thriving.
